I know the auto has injector shutoff, but how about the manual? I haven't actually snooped on the injectors, but it seems after a few seconds of coasting above 1500rpm, the car really slows down and then deceleration lets off below 1500rpm where it seems the injectors kick back on. Is this right? What are the parameters for injector shutoff on a 2200 5spd? How long do you have to be in what RPM range for it to happen (if at all)?

2002 Cavalier 2200 5spd

I believe the PCM shuts off the injectors when the throttle closes and you leave it in gear to coast down. They come back on at about that RPM probably to keep the engine from dying. If you meant the RPM cutoff, the manuals on the 2.2 I believe are at 6250 before it cuts fuel. Unsure at what speed the autos cutoff at top-end.
