i've replaced my driver window motor on my 02 cav, just last summer, and it's still slow, even the day i put it in... the passenger side is faster than the driver, but not by much... and even the driver was replaced around 30K and now the car has 135K... looking to see what you guys did to clean/ inspect the window switch, elevators, motor, anything to make it go up quicker... getting the car re-tinted so would like some input quick!
Something is dragging or bent. Take the panel off both front doors and do a comparison. I'm guessing the track is bent or the felt lining is messed up. Also see that the glass is firmly attached to the track base. I lube all parts inside of doors with marine grease. You can get that at the parts store in a cartridge, it's used to lube outboard motors and is usually blue in color. Really water resistant and doesn't dry out fast.
thanks i've noticed just recently that the driver door panel pushes out when the door is lowered and creaks a bit, the pass side creaks, but i dont think it moves the panel out. i dont think anything is loose or bent since i just took the drivers side apart no more than a week ago, to lube it up, i use a spray lubricant... i think the brand was CNC.. not sure though... can you see if the panel pushes out slightly on yours and give me some idea if it is... just to see if it's not only mine...
i know what's up....use some white grease, and grease the HELL out of the scissors of the window. these dry up and are the reason why the motors burn out. just grease grease grease it! lithium will work well, and move it up and down, and let me know how it goes.
Sounds like it might be dragging on the gasket. My manual window was giving me trouble and I solved it by actually lightly white-greasing the window itself. Messy and annoying, but after a couple of months it cleared up and still moved smoothly. Worked for me, anyways.

I love white grease, but it dries out too. That's why I use the marine stuff. Clean the old grease off with brake cleaner. When it dries it gets really sticky. I found this out fixing old phono turntables. My electrics are actually in an Olds from the seventies, but the premise is the same. Mine don't cause any funny motions but they are three times the size of a Cavvy! Keep looking for bent or not anchored stuff. BTW, I last greased the Olds windows in 1995, still working.
i installed a right side passenger side mirror and now i must of dislocated something on the window cuz it wont really move up or down. its power windows.
i should just take it apart too and inspect and grease huh?
