today... i found out my car is either bleeding power, or seriously needs a new waterpump and coolant flush... haha
my current "to do list"
Paint the car
Coolant change- new water pump
new fuel pump
100K mile tune-up
any opinions on an intercooler over the stock rad? im not planning on boosting, but i would like my engine to run cooler. would it just be a waste?
any tips/tricks on how to fix my engine heat problem?
sorry... ill post it in maintenance... haha
what else can i do to "spruce up the car" while im workin on these things.
i get a nice discount at advance, and i have full access to a shop.
no boost no intercooler
how much higher that operating temp. are you running?

Getting "better built" for the '08...
its running at a consistent 235
it used to run at about 185 (just a hair below halfway up)
i dont like it...

Yeah you have a problem. Maybe a sticking thermostat.
FU Tuning
i can make the engine cooler by running the AC for about a minute or two. then usually after a few minutes of driving, it climbs back up from the ~195 i got it down to with the ac.
idk whats going on...
just a question but is youre fan coming on without tuning the ac on that maybe be part of youre problem
yes it does, but i turn on the ac because i like to keep it cooler than when the fan kicks in...
Turning on the AC kicks the fan on automatically, so the fan IS running with the AC on.

Try a new thermostat and see what happens, it's probably the cheapest option

yea thermostat would be my first thing to change. 7 bucks for a new one and it couldnt hurt to replace anyway. if your water pump was going, it would start to leak coolant from under the car. a worse case possiblity could be a blown head gasket/warped head.
what about a leaking valve cover gasket? mine has been leaking for a little while... i know it needs replaced, but i just dont have time/money
Valve cover gasket is about a 1/2 hour to 45 minute job, and the gasket shouldn't cost more than 20 bucks. Make sure the gasket mating surfaces are as clean as possible when you put it all back together.
