losing power

i have a 2000 sunfire with a 2200.i keep losing all power.none whatsoever.like itll start one time an as soon as i let off the clutch it'll die.soo i thought maybe my battery was bad.soo i try'd jump starting it.and that did nothin.soo i unhooked the battery for about an hour.hooked it back up and once again had power.but to keep the car running i had to keep it rev'd at about 2000rpm's or it would die cause it wouldnt hold idle.then after about ten mins of running with a hesitation to it.it will start running perfectly fine..so i drove it for about two days and it ran perfectly fine.so just now i get in it,start it up.and once again its doin the same thing..could this be something internally?such as the computer?or harness?can someone please help me.thank you.

No check engine light on?. Might want to replace the fuel filter, Also get a fuel pressure test done on the fuel pump. IAC sensor could carboned up. May need carb cleaner spray into the sensor.

Lossing all elec. power or drivability power? (if drivability, refer to Rich Week)

if elec. power:
Have you had corsion on the battery before???

Sounds like your not getting the power supply to the car due to like...
1) Corsion in cables
2) grounding out
3) Bad battery - still an option
4) loose wire - not as likely
5) not connected to the battery properly (the rubber protecters normally cause some space between the battery and cable)

another way to check this is while the cars running or when it just dies, take one of the cables and try to wiggle it around keeping an eye out the power (on/off) back to the car.
If thats the case inspect the cables (while disconnected, bend it... if you hear craking, then you might have some corsion in it) or the connection (take a razor and shave the protectors down a little)

If not the case, search the cables (both +'s) for any grounding

Last is change the battery

After that... well, Im outta option
Goodluck

Hope it helps
