2.2L Motor Swap

I just want to make sure I can do this before i buy a motor. I am wanting to put a 2003 chevy cavalier motor into my 1999 pontiac sunfire. They are both 2.2L engines, I assume it will be a straight swap. Both cars had ECO motors. Anything I might want to know before i buy this engine?? Thanks guys.

Ummm... They didn't put Ecotec's into the J platform until 2002, so your motor is most likely the 2.2l OHV unless someone already did an ecotec swap. The swap requires all the wiring, motor, transmission, and fuel tank to be swapped.

Yeah, that was pretty much my line of thinking too, the first time I looked into what was involved.

You need the 2.2l (2200) OHV engine from 99-2002. The 98's had EGR and your's doesn't, so I'm not sure how that would work.
