AC problem

Ok, not sure what is going on here, so I'm turning to you guys...

My AC only runs on the third fan setting, and only blows cold when I'm driving. When I stop at a light, or something, it will start to blow hot air and the car starts to overheat. The air wont work at all on the first or second settings. I was told that it was the fan motor so I replaced it (fan still isn't running). The guys at the shop looked at me like I had three heads and told me to come back next week...

You all have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

yeah i had the same problem. but not the setting problem. when i drove my car i would turn the a/c on and it would blow cold when driving. but sitting it would blow cold air. and my car would over heat really bad. i got a fan relay fuse. its under the hood. in the fuse box. fan blower i believe. not sure, fan something. i go look in a minute. but after i got a new one it worked perfect.

Blower motor resistor.

Maybe needs a refill of freon too.

Thanks guys. It was a combination of the resistor, motor and fuse. Works perfectly now
