Ok, my 99 fully built 2.4L is having just a tiny bit of fuel problems(sarcasm)
Well I have a 255lph fuel pump in my tank, when the car gets warmed up and been driving for like 20 mins the car cuts off and takes a while to get started until the car is completely cooled off.. I have over a half tank in there..
Here is the thing, you cant touch the fuel rail after ive been driving because its so damn hot, so are my lines.. My car is at the performance shop now.. I didnt dare drive it home..
A little background on my fuel setup..
I have a walbro in there, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, stock fuel rail, and 680 cc injectors.. My pressure is only 40psi upon startup. We tested the injectors and they are fine, ohm wise.
Now, I have a SS braided line coming from the side of my fuel filter back into the tank.. In order to get the fuel tank screws strapped down we really had to smash it up in there.. So IM thinking the SS line is being smashed and restricted causing low fuel pressure, thus heating up the fuel..
We're thinking I should get a venom fuel rail, AEM afpr and fabricating a tank to cool the fuel.. That was just an idea of some sort that we could do.
What do you guys think the problem is, any ideas, do my theories sound like it could be the issue.?
Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to include all the info of what was going on..
Thanks.

Well I'm wondering if your fuel pump is over heating. I remember reading on here somewhere people had the 255lhp burn up, and needed replaced. I would drop the tank and check that line as well. Have you check, or change the fuel filter recently?

Yea thats what we were thinkin also about the fuel pump... I changed the fuel filter 1000 miles ago.. We're gonna take off the braided line tomorrow, while im at it Im going to change the fuel filter again... I hope the fuel pump is ok...

You could always put that silver insulated pipe insulation around the fuel lines, that might help with some of the heat soak. Fugly, but it may keep your car on the road longer.
Update
Looks like my new walbro is toast...
We put in a new fuel line, we hot wired the pump to a constant 12 volt source so its always on(thats how my Devons cavy is with his GTP motor) Anyway that raised the fuel pressure alot upon priming and start up, but the damn thing still leans out then cuts the car off..
So Monday, going to see if I can exhange this pump.. Wish me luck.
