I got surprised by the weather and rolled into a big puddle of water... It sucked enough water to make the car stall, the intake manifold was almost full of water.... Nothing bad... cleaned the manifold, made it ran without the plugs and it started, run like before the incident. But now the fan is constantly ON when the car is running... I'll check the relay tomorrow, but what could cause that??? I know the ECT is the one telling the fan to kick on, but how the hell can it be @!#$ up if the water only got into the manifold/combution chamber..
Do you have a Check engine light on?? The fan will run when certain codes are thrown. This could be a sign of a code that is about to set the light.

No check engine light yet, I will have to get it to the dealer to check it!!
the ac is off right?
just have to check the basics

You probably got water into one of the connections for the fan.

Yeah someone suggested it tonight, I'll check that tomorrow
i had the same problem. but now if its too hot (just barely past the middle marker) the fan turns on when i shut it off. it stayed on all the time for a week on me, but didnt turn on when it was off. then all of a sudden it stoped being on all the time and started to turn on when i shut it off. messed up.
I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'
The connection on the fan was dry and I switched 2 relays and still the same result...

I know it's not my over-ride switch since it would be ON even with the key out... Screw that it's going to the dealer...
you realize you have a problem half the people on this org ask for eery day....lol

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
I searched a bit but most posts are talking about : My fan won't turn ON..
If theres an override switch, the first thing the dealer is gonna do is disable that and rewire it stock. And if the warranty is still good, they may decide not to honor it. Might be a good idea to take the override out before you take it to the dealer if it IS still under warranty.
base models have no AC? wut the hell do u have ANYTHING turned on any setting on the hvac thats on turns on the fan as well
His is a phase 3 3rd gen, AC was an option on the base models on those. As for HVAC settings that activate his fan, you are right, he shouldn't have any settings that do that.
