I've a non-start 96 Z24 M5. I tried all kinds of thing and non of them work. I've
a thread about this crank but no start situation.
Now I'm thinking about some alterative options if I can't fix it.
1) Sell it

2) Swap it, or
3) Rebuild it
I don't really want option 1 cuz I'll be losting money. Option 2 is good but I've a couple problems. It's easy to find a 2.4L LD9 but they're expensive. And I recall 99 engine don't works with 96 tranny. So I need engine and tranny and it's gonna burn a big hole in my wallet. I also recall there's something about the motor mount with an Ecotec swap.
Now goes down to option 3. Since the engine has only 80k miles which is very low in my area. The tranny is no problem and got a new clutch. So I think it worth a rebuild. But, what exactly should I do with the rebuild? I dunno whats broken/mulfunction, and it won't even start just crank.
I need help guys. Any input is welcome. My car will only worth about $600-800 if I sell AS IS. A working 97 Z24 converitable cost about $2500 in San Francisco, CA. Even Ecotec Cavalier cost about $3500. So I want to spend my money worthy.
