Window motor

okay the window motor died on my girlfriends 00 cavi, i have the door panel off and not sure if i have to take the whole window assembly out, or what rivets i need to remove. can anyone help?

Ive been through this...maybe I can save you some trouble. My drivers window motor died too. It was intermittent for a while..then absolutely nothing. You indded need to remove the rivets to get the wondow motor out. However, what seemed to actually be wrong with my motor was a mickey mouse internal breaker. If your motor is the same as mine, you will find 2 spots on the end of the motor that look like test points. If you use a decent peice of wire in those two test like points, you will be bypassing the internal breaker. I had mine all part by the time I discovered all this and ended up soldering the breaker terminals solid. You may get away with using the jumper wire and not removing anything from the door shell. Hope this helps

how did you find out that it was that there mickey mouse breaker? ive got a problem with mine not working on the driver side when it gets a bit warm and a friend mentioned that may be my problem also......

also i was wondering if you could explain a bit better what you meant when you said you soldered the breaker points solid? thanks
