Noise from the AC Compressor

Hey all I have noticed a really loud and annoying noise from my ac compressor on my cavalier. It's almost like a grinding noise that gets louder as I accelerate. The air still seems to work fine and gets cold but just gets loud and annoying and is kind of embarassing to drive. If anyone has or had this problem and has some insight let me know. I kinda am leaning toward the clutch.

yup.....My clutch went, and then the bearing started to go.

Cost me 444.89 out the door.

They did the whole compressor and replaced it with ACDELCO parts.
