I was driving today and I happened to look at my oil pressure gauge and it was reading at a lil below 25 psi. The engine was warmed up because I had been driving for a while but it wasn't over 195 degress and I pulled over to look for any leaks and found no oil anywhere leaking. I got home, let the motor cool down a lil and checked the oil and it was full what is the deal with my car? It's a Eco BTW

oil pressure sensor, i would presume
I took the one off of the motor well cut the plug off more like it so I assume you mean the one for the gauge itself right? forgive me for sounding stupid, I just don't want to risk hurting my motor again.

Just for clarity's sake, you previously cut the wiring coming from the oil pressure sending unit (oil pressure sensor)?
Chad
I have a Autometer Oil pressure gauge hooked up of the side of the block..And when the motor is total hot after driver it sits at about 25 PSi..And goes to about 30 PSI at full throttle..I have been told this is normal for the Ecotec..When it is cold the pressure is at 80 PSi but normal it sits at 25 PSI..I am also running Mobil1...
well on my 2200. during cold mornings or just plain startin in the morning mine will read around 75-80 PSI and then when it warms up ill read anywhere from 25-50 psi while driving and if it a really hot day out ill read like 5 psi while idling lol
Cold oil is thicker than hot oil, and thus flows with higher pressures. It's normal for oil pressure on a warm engine to be less than oil pressure on a cold start.
