Sup guys.

I just bought a friends j-body for $300.

its a 96, 5 speed, 2 door coupe, 2.2Liter OHV

Anyway...
I bought it with this WEIRD syptom:

It turnsover perfectly, fires up, and then runs for about 1/2 a second then cuts off...

EVERYTIME I try to turn it over, it starts for about 1/2 to 1 second, then cuts off.

Fuel pump is good, checked fuse, checked continuity at the pump, all is well...

Hes a known friend, and before I bought it from him, I noticed it had this symptom all along, and I noticed that if he keeps trying to start it, over and over, after a random amount of times of starting it, it will run PERFECTLY...

But recently it finally stopped doing this, and now doesnt run perfectly anymore, it only starts runs then dies, and thats it.

I dont know much about these cars, but informative posts would be appreciated.

BTW: I changed the coil's (both of them) and it didnt help anything...

I'll assume that the little security light keeps flashing after it dies... because it sounds like it's definitely PASSlock locking you out.

I just had a similar problem, and though there seems to be a myriad of causes for this kind of issue, check this over just to make sure that you don't waste your time and money like I did.
