heres the story. i was leaving the girlfriends house tonite and made a right onto a street going about 10 mph, gave it gas and the car just stalled (car is a automatic btw). my check enginge light flashed after this and my battery light lit up. I tried cranking it back on but it wouldnt start. the battery sounds strong and like it wants to crank over but doesnt. so i have rulled out bad bat. the other thing was alternator but i dont think that either.
the car is a 2000 cavi 2.4 auto with only mod under hood is a intake. i also have a system with a alpine 600watt amp. I"m thnking maybe alternator from running accesories and stuff, but i'm not sure. so any help is greatly appreciated. but now i'm also thinking maybe fuel pump or something fuel related??This really sucks because tomorrow i was suppose to leave for the ocean (senior week) but now i'm gonna be a little behind schedule.
thanks in advance!
ok, well today i checked all fuses/relays and changed out the fuel pump one- but nothing there. i changed out the fuel filter (which was a bitch to get out lol) and still nothing. the gas in the filter looked really dirty, and i guess thats my fault cause i let it get too low before i fill up sometimes. and when i turn the key to the accesories position i dont hear the noise that the fuel pump makes anymore, so i am almost positive thats what i need...so this is gonnna be fun dropping that damn tank out of there. ..
Fuel + air + compression + spark.
You checked the fuel pump relay and all other wiring using a multimeter? Do you hear the relay clicking? It could save you a lot of work if it wasn't the pump
sorry forgot about this post. it turned out that one of the clamps from the vacuum line of my intake was hitting against wires by the fuel rail and caused it to short out blowing the fuse for the fuel pump. luckily i didnt go dropping my gas tank to find that out lol
