I noticed a few times in the past 2-3 weeks when I'd hit a certain bumpy spot in the road, my check engine and coolant warning lights would come on for maybe 3 seconds, then go off. According to the owner's manual, this is only a problem if they stay on. I've had this happen maybe 5 times, it's usually when I hit the traffic light in that area green and don't have to slow down, hitting the bumpy spot around 35mph.
Every day going to and from work I cross railroad tracks. Yesterday while crossing the tracks at maybe 10mph, all dash warning lights came on for a few seconds, then went out a few at a time over maybe the next 5 seconds. On the rest of the drive home, the above mentioned check engine & coolant light combo came on again, but not at the usual bump in the road, then went off again as usual.
What should I check? Would it be a ground problem? If so, how do I go about that?
If it was ground, you would lose like your speedo, rpm etc. you have a short circuit problem, not ground.
