I've got a bad A/C clutch on my A/C compressor. It looks like you need a special tool to remove it. I checked at the local auto parts stores, and some of them rent tools for this application, but nothing that fits the 2.4L A/C compressor. Anybody know where I can get a tool, or how else I could get it off? Thanks.

It is a pain in the ass for sure. I tried to strong arm it without using the tool and broke the lip on the compressor lol. I didn't look too hard for the tool, but didn't have any luck. You might be better off finding a complete used compressor whose clutch doesn't grind for cheap.

Im in the same boat. I never drove with AC....its called windows! but recently I had to start because my 2000's ac clutch is crapping out. I just bought the car too
Im going to have it done by a mechanic because i don't have the tool and would rather have it done right.
Mine also now makes a rubbing noise when i have the fan on speed 2 or higher. Think its from the clutch?
And my driving skills on the clutch are mediocre, so i suspect i'll need one of them soon too.......
