Parts on the cheap?

Okay...

1994 Cavalier, 2.2L I4

I have some parts that I need.

I need:
rear main oil seal
oil pan gasket
wheel bearings
half shafts
struts
rear wheel cylinders...

basically, all of the drivetrain components, and most of the suspension, have to be replaced.

I can probably do the wheel cylinders, seal and gasket for a good price at autozone/advance auto. However, drivetrain and suspension parts are expensive.
Anybody know where I can get them for less than autozone or advance?

If anybody can help me find the struts/wheelbearings/wheel cylinders/half shafts/etc. for cheap, I'll be very happy.

Salvage maybe, but you run the chance of getting a bad part there too, most salvage parts are warrantied for 90days, some aren't. i know some of the Gm parts are expansive at like autozone and advance, but in the long run if you are wanting to keep the car for a long time, i would save up so you could buy the lifetime parts that way you have no worrys in the furture, you might also try e-bay, sometimes you can find some good deals on used parts.

I wouldnt buy anything from Autozone or Advance.

I would buy them all from NAPA or better yet the dealer, you get what you pay for.

I gave up on buying price, especially when the "bargain parts" leave you broke down at the side of the road.
For engine gaskets (Fel Pro), drive parts Borg Warner or Moog...doing the job once will save you in the end.

Rear wheel cylinders and the front wheel hubs (wheel bearings) are actually fairly inexpensive. The cylinders shouldn't run more than 9 bucks a piece, the front hubs are 50 a piece if you want the cheapies, 92 each for name brand, rear hub assemblies are 120 a piece or 144 a piece (yeah, I guess the rears are a bit pricey). Axles are 60-90 a piece, depending on what side and remanufactured or new. Prices from O'reilly Auto parts. You might try Pep-Boys too if theres one local to you.
None of these parts are BW or Moog though.
On a side note, if you replace the axles, go ahead and get new spindle nuts/washers/cotter pins, they aren't expensive, and call it cheap insurance.
And you might consider replacing the axle seals in the tranny too while the axles are out, as well as replacing the brake hoses on all 4 corners along with flushing the brake system, especially if you are still running on the factory hoses, they are 13 years old, and don't cost much. Rubber doesn't last forever.

At the least, you can get GM part numbers there and plug them into other auto part searches, or take them to NAPA, etc.
