ok its actually on an s-10 but its the same motor so i thought id ask around here. got a 2200 in an s-10 losing about a gallon of coolant in a week and no trace of coolant leaking and not smoking out the exhaust? any ideas would be great

You said there is no smoke out the exhaust, but does it have a sweet smell to it?
Look for a bad radiator cap, hose problem or like I had, a bad water pump gasket or finally check for moisture around the water pump shaft bleed hole only after the engine is up to temp.
The leak should be easy to trace since anti freeze doesn't evaporate and leaves a slimey trail wherever it goes.
