You may have been serious, and a that is a valid suggestion, but it made me get a good laugh for some reason.

I imagine you've got some crap growing in the ventilation ducts. I don't know if somebody has a specific suggestion, but it seems to me you could probably set the controls to high-fan recirculating, and spray a whole bunch of something anti-bacterial into the car before getting out and shutting the door. Maybe.

vent on high, spray lysol (preferrably something floral instead of hospital smell formula) into the intake vents at the base of the windshield under the hood. The evaporator filter likely has junk growing in it like Geeky said above. Unfortunately, that filter is not replaceable without major (and I mean MAJOR) dash disassembly.

check to see if the floor mats are damp. why i ask is because coolant stinks like fish, coolant can be leaking because your heater core is blown (i think its called the heater core), it may be related since its all HVAC. let me know what u find out

1. Shut your AC off about a block from your stop, so its no longer blowing cold. It will remove some of the condensation in the system and the moister wont sit and form mildew.

2. Also clean out the area below the windshield, where the wipers are. Leaves and bugs collect there and since the air that is sucked in comes from that general area, it will suck in the smell off the rotting bugs and leaves.

The A/C in my car used to smell like fish, did this and it no longer smells.
