AC Compressor Garbage

My compressor went on my 2000 Cavalier this past December and I replaced the whole system last week. I had the parts laying around and never got to it til school was over. Anyways filled it up with freon and it was working great for the first two days and now the damn clutch on it won't engage. Its brand new. I talked to a buddy at a garage and they say never buy remanufactored ac compressor because this damn things happens all the time. I had a 3 month warranty and now I'm sol on that. has any one else had this problem? I have Does anyone know where I can buy a new one and also how hard is it to get the clutch assembly off? Thanks

are you sure the ac compressor isnt crapped out? the clutch wont engage if hte level is too much/little or if something is throwing a code ... temperature etc...

I think there is a Freon leak, that would stop it engaging, as Matt says.

Have you rechecked the charge?

Did you replace all the O-rings when you re-assembled it?

I checked the level and its not leaking. I replaced the drier, the orfice tube, and the main hose. The clutch will work if i hit it with a screw driver but that is the only way it turns on. When it does the air is colder than I have ever felt.

Does anyone know how hard it is to replace a clutch? Do I need any special tools to take one off? Im just going to go to a junk yard and pull one off.
