Getting ready to rebuild my 2.4. The motor recently started using oil and my MPG dropped from my norm. so I figured there was something wrong some where and I have pulled the car off the road. And started to prepare to tear down the motor. Just looking to get a list of parts that would be good to get for a general rebuild/mild build. I'm hoping to upgrade the vehicle gradually to a turbo setup. Thinking while the motor is out possibly having it bored. But want to start getting places to get parts from and or a good list from someone else that has rebuilt there engine and where they got the parts from and how much it ran them. So I can start getting the money together now. Thanks!
if you are wanting to rebuild it and want boost/nitrous in the future i would suggest:
2.3 oil pump swap
clevite 77 bearings all around
forged pistons (wiseco/JE) possible overbore
eagle rods
arp studs all around
cometic head gasket
balance bottom end
