the other day i noticed a hole on the front on my motor that when i rev the car it blows air out. when i put my hand over it i got a bit of black (carbon) left. i think it should be the egr or something but dont know. ther is two small holes to bolt something on. anny one know what it may be or what i should do?
i can tell its leaving black crap all over everything around it.
That is where the egr valve mounts.
so shouldnt i atleast have the valve even if i dont hook it back into my intake, or is this ok?
99 doesn't have egr so..... ever have the motor replaced?

hmm i dont think its ever bean replaced. i didnt do it atleast. what can i do about this, should i try and put on a egr or leave it. how could i stop it from spitting out that black crap, could i put a breather filter on it or cap it off?

its that loud, yup egr block off plate and gasket cost like 12 dollars from gm.
i wish i would have noticed this before. thanks, it looks like ill take a trip to the delership this weekend and try and order the block off plate. that might explain a bit of exhaust fumes every now and again.... lol.
