Power Window broken!
Tuesday, May 15, 2007 10:17 AM
Hey. I have a 96 sunfire and the passenger side window stops working every once in awhile. It'll go down, and then go back up a little, but usually not all the way. i have to end up waiting an hour or 2 to get the window all the way back up. So obviously I need to replace the motor. Does anybody know of a good tutorial of how to do this or any help at all?

Thanks a lot!

Actually it could be the switch, it could have worn contacts, so sometimes makes contact and sometimes not.

Motors usually cause it to stop altogether, or go very very slow, due to the increased resistance of the motor binding up internally.

it could also be the motor running into flat spots, when the window quits working try tapping the motor with a hammer

It is the window motor. It gets hot and stops working. Change out the window motor.
