Lower engine knock..

Ok i got a lower engine knock so i am needing to either rebuild this one LD9 or replace it.. jsut looking at if someone can give me the pros/cons of rebuild to junk yard engine and a price diffrennce.. also if i did rebuild this one what all would that consist of... (i know a noob question but you dont know unless you ask)

it could just be your rod bearings are bad. there about 70bucks for a new set to replace all of them.

Well if you rebuild you could do some things to add power. Getting a newer LD9 with low miles will be the cheapest route and quickest. I did a very stock rebuild on my ex wifes grand am with a 2.4. We re-used factory piston's rods, cams. Add all new bearings gaskets, pumps (water, oil), had a valve job done, hot tanked the block, honed, resized the rods, polished the crank, new clutch. Most of the work ( besides the valve job, hot tanking, and polishing of the crank we did ourselves) we spent right at $950 and a couple weeks. I have gotten low miles 2.4's for $650.
