i got the car with 82,333 miles on it and a full tank a gas, i did 350 miles and then filled up again at 82,683 with a 1/4 gas left in it so i could of had more miles.
and i now have 82,965 so it did this time 282 miles and its close to empty but since 1/2 tank left i felt the gas go by way to fast for what ive been driving to and from.
so i feeling a sign of gas loosing fast i dont see or smell any leaks. what could be the problem? any ideas would be apreciated this weekend ill pop the hood and see what i can make out of this situation.
i do feel a small power lost on my acceleration too.
thanks again.

do you get gas at the same place everytime?

I would say you need to do some additional experimenting...
After first making sure no one is siphoning fuel from you (not an uncommon occurence in these high-priced gasoline days).
While it doesn't happen to every J-body, nor all the time, there have been A LOT of posts over the years of incorrect fuel level readings in this forum. So while you may have 'thought' you had a quarter tank left....are you really sure you did? 350 miles on 3/4 a tank is REALLY good mileage....like unnaturally good mileage....I suspect you had less in the tank than the gauge indicated.
Do some actual mileage tests to see what you're really getting. Fill tank up....drive a couple hundred miles....fill tank again....note the number of gallons it takes to fill up and divide the actual miles driven by the number of gallons used. For best results, this should be done repeatedly for 3-5 (or more) fill-ups.

no and ive only gas it once..
Could the car be running rich?
my throttle/ gas pettle sometimes sticks at 1st gear could it be the TB isnt opening enough and not letting enough air get in making it run rich?

It is possible the car is running rich, an inproper air fuel ratio could cause power loss. Does the exahust gases smell of gas or have a backlish color?
the throttle cables go bad. I have had to replace mine twice now.

good idea on the testing in fact its already started i just need more weeks and driving to do so i can get better results i just freaked out when i did 350 miles and now 282 i was like damn and plus the gauge was droping quick.
ill fill up take miles down and try again this next week. i parked it for now and will drive the 2004 pt cruiser in mean time till monday

do you have the right tire size?
you ought to be able to get around 380-420 miles per tank, and thats including the "Check Gauges" light coming on when you are REALLY low.
thats assuming you drive like you are supposed to all the time lol
