Ok guyes got another puzzler for ya. I have a 97 sunfire gt, you know the 2.4 ld9 blah blah blah. I went to put the air on today and it came on and then it turn right off and did this cycling. So I turned it off and drove the car and the it worked. But I think it was a freak thing. Now the A/C cycles on and off and I tryed to fill it up with freon and it still does it. Is there a switch or fuse that might have caused this. Also I took the motor out about 2 weeks ago, you think the twisting of the hose could have done something. I dont think it could have because it worked after it was back together.

is the relay good? did u fill the system too full
If it cycles on and off it is to low, or to high.
You need a set of gauges for this low side should be about ambient temp divived by 2.5, high side should be about ambient temp times 2.5

A/C is something that IMO shouldnt be messed with by somebody that doesnt fully know alot about it. My sisters sunfire did that I think it had too much gas in it. I would go buy a good set of guages if you really want to check it. You really dont have to mess with the high side. But if I were you I would take it somewhere to get it CHECKED and then you can do whatever with it. Also if you can, get your hands on some Hotshot...aka R-414b. Its a R-134a substitute that makes my Nissan put ice cicles on your nose...literally. I used to have 134a in it and it did ok but i switched to Hotshot and DAMN! Its more expensive but its the REAL DEAL!
Well i thought it was the RK sport pulley becuase it works when driving the car normal. But when I come to a stop it shuts off. Where is the relay at. Also when I put the car back together I never added any thing to the a/c system. But I did try to add, after it started to have this problem. Please check my wiring and tell me if everything is correct. maybe I hooked up a grond wire that I was not supposed to hook up? Also is this the relay if not where is it?
