Rant on GM designing

Just spent ALL day with my car!!!! Heater core is giving out, so I'm replacing that (truly phucked up planning; had to 'remove' ENTIRE dash to get at it!!), and all coolant hoses along with the water pump and thermostat. Damn radiator hoses have those spring clamps on 'em, so I had to drop the radiator to get at them. Who thinks this stuff up?!?! I hope that the next time they design a car, they are sober and off any halucinogenic drugs when they get to designing the ease of maintenance. Cripes, I feel like Grover in his famous musical act "Over, under, and through" after today! Everything under the hood is buttoned up, dash is 95% finished, and I have a sh!t load of tools to put away, that that will all have to be done at another day. Fortunately, I'm off work on vacation, so I've a little time to rest up before I finish. Oh yeah, still need to refill with coolant. There's another fine piece; No 'real' radiator cap, 'bleed' screws to burp the system of air, it just never ends. Some folks still like to do their own repairs, GM. How's about cuttin' us Saturday wrenchers a break, huh?

Jeez and I thought it was bad when you have to rip the dash apart just to install a new CD player...

Changing the heater core was easy on my S-15... but what a friggin' mess it made on the passenger side floor... Not that it didn't make a mess from leaking in the first place anyway, lol.
