Fan wont turn off

I was driving my car and it started overheating, got home and the fan on turn off any ideas?

possibly the Fan Relay....but if it overheated it could the sensor that tells when the fan to turn on. I'd start by changing the relay, and see how that goes...it's pretty cheap.

Well i went out 15min later and the fan was off so there must be a saftey built in or somethin to keep running till engine is cool

If the coolant is overheated the temperature sensor WILL keep the fan running with the ignition key removed, this is normal. This is also why there is usually a notice saying the fan will start at any time.

You just have a separate overheating problem that needs to be investigated.

i wouldnt worry about the fan being on. its normal it will stay on for a couple min after you turn it off if the engine is warm. you just need to check your fluid and check for any leaks

thast happend to m cept it wouldnt turn on. i changed the relay fuse.... nothing. So I put a switch in the cab.
