I noticed that when I started my car this morning that my electric fan was on. I got in. Started up my car. Put the heat to defrost on the top window to get rid of some frost. I then got out to have a smoke and I noticed could hear that my electric fan was on. I popped my hood and took a look and it was on.
I then went into the car and put the heat on the floor and it shut off. I then put it on defrost on the top of the dash and it turns on. Just wondering if this is normal. I guess I never really noticed it before.

It's perfectly normal. Every J i've ever been in does this. The compressor kicks on to dry the air.
