Who uses this product in their car? I was wondering if it seemed to help you out any?

I have twice, my buddy too. But with as chity as my truck has been running since the rebuild, I can't say if it has any effect. I do know this...

I 1984 Shell oil corperation introduced SU2000. It was a premium-grade unleaded fuel that formulated especially for the then
current and new fuel-injected cars to prevent deposit buildup on the injectors and back of intake valve heads. And when the MPI Turbo- power Mopars hit the seen, the SMEC's tuning programing specifically required that fuel to run best. GNs and T-types too. That same basic detergent style fuel is still available today, just updated in formulation and under a different name, as 93 octane Shell V-power. The lesson here? It's more cost effective in the long run just to use a fuel that's formulated to keep things clean.

Go beyond the "bolt-on".

actually a show i watched not too long ago had a few similar cars with same builds....they dynoed before and after of the cars and the amoco gold(or w/e their 93 octane is) had the best gains and was 8 more horsepower over the rest of the competition....

but me personally i think its going to be based on the gas station on how well they maintain their pumps and tanks and also the age of the gas stations....older stations can have more deposits in their fuel
so i would advise pick what you want, but if it was me go to a newer gas station.....

Yeah I just put a bottle of it in the girlfriend focus. We'll see if it seems to make a difference. If it does then I might run it through mine. I was also thinkin about seafoaming my car at some point. It's got 83,5xx on it right now. Should I go for it or would it hurt?

One change at a time so you can blame/praise the right culprit.

I'd hold off on the Seafoam and just use a quality oil meant for high mileage engines like yours.
Oh, you never said what engine you have, but if it's the LN2 pushrod I-4 I'd recommend getting the cam timing chain and tensioner replaced soon (around 80,000 mi but before it's too-far over 100,000) before it lets go and causes an eventually very costly disaster. Trust me on that one.

Go beyond the "bolt-on".

It's a LN2 with 83,5xxx on it. If the motor were to go it might be a good thing anyway later down the road cause then it would be a excuse for a motor swap lol. Thanks for the input though currently I have been running valvoline highmileage 5W30 in it.

Well before I put it in my car I was getting between 22 and 23 MPG average, I just got done running the lucas through a tank and got 26MPG average out of the tank. Seems to work fairly well to me and the car seems to run smoother.

All i know is, i have a 2200 sfi w/86k miles on it, and i was previously getting about 26-28mpg in it and that sucked.
I was filling it up with arco gas for a year or so. I had bought the lucas injector cleaner stuff, and some guy mentioned
that i should try running chevron in it because all grades of chevron have some sort of fuel injector cleaner in them.
I go to LA every other week, so gas mileage is a big deal to me.

With arco gas, i'd get about 160mi. on half a tank.
With chevron, i got 180mi. on half a tank.
With chevron + lucas stuff, i got a smidge over 180mi. on half a tank. maybe 185mi.
With shell gas, i think i am getting ~170mi.

I don't know what it is, but my car seems to not like cheap gas.
I seem to get way better mileage with high quality gas in the city too.

Anyways, running the lucas stuff, i noticed my engine running smoother too.
They boast it as being this big performance booster but i think that's bs.. unless you
have been needing an injector cleaning for a long time!

just my two cents..

Sadly, no more..

I just treat it here and there if I feel it's needed since i dont have any good gas stations near me.

no car likes cheap gas and using cheap gas does have its consequences in the long run. i remember here in ontario there are plenty of cheap brand gas stations. and a few months ago when they had a serious shortage of gas and some stations were closed because of a fire at a refinery, every time we would pass by one of these cheapo stations we said now there's a place that will never run out - whenever their gasoline runs low, they just add more kerosene to the mix. in the states i think chevron and shell and a handful of others meet or exceed the top tier standard so you should use those that do. in canada it's a problem, the only company that meets top tier is shell. no one else does.

I swear by lucas anything. I always seem to have great results. No clogs in the injectors and the oil stabilizer is top notch!
