Hey, newbie here...or should I say returning to the jbody world after a few years hiatus
I just picked up a 99Z24 with a 5 speed and i was wondering how many miles you guys with similar setups get to a tank? I got 530kms (335miles) on my first tank and that's lower than i expected out of this car.
I've been reading the fuel economy tips thread and have a few ideas to try. I have so far run some lucas injector cleaner through the car but haven't checked the air filter, plugs or wires yet. There's 98000kms on the car and 24000kms on a new motor. I'm thinking of changing the fuel filter in addition to the tuneup.
So what kind of mileage are you guys n gals getting on a full tank of gas?

usually around 28-36 i do about half highway half short trips through town.
as for the miles per tank i usually don't let mine drop to far below a quarter tank so i get like 300-350 every time i fill
2002 z24 5spd
About 400 miles per tank (15.2 gal, so says the owner's manual) with a 2.2. Best I ever got was 37mpg on a highway road trip YEARS ago. I'm getting close to 30mpg now with mixed driving on winter blended fuel. If I fill up with ethanol blend, it jumps up 2-4 mpg. Engine has 193K miles on it, virtually all OE internals. No significant oil burning...yet!
it doesent have plug wires!!so you cant check those.
My 2.4 with all my mods I usually get 300-330 a tank with mostly clity driving. On the highway it will get around 400-425 per tank.
