i have a 98 z24 with a 2.4 twin cam engine
im replacing the water pump on my car, i took of the cupler like piece that goes around the water pump, there are 3 nuts on the water pump. the water pump comes out a little ways but stops and i cant get it to come off. do i have to pull the front cover and undo a bolt or nut in order to get the water pump off??? need help thanks
Yup, the whole timing chain assembly and housing need to come off. The pump is timing chain driven.
We all WISH it was as easy as taking off those three nuts back there...
PLEASE ZIP TIE THE CHAIN IN PLACE!!! BEFORE when you take off the tensioners....
if it moves at all you'll be fux0r3d. ....and have to reset the timing.
