I was driving today and made a left turn, when I went to turn the wheel back to straight it would go straight but it wouldn't turn to the right. I looked underneath to see if maybe something was wrong with the rack but nope nothing so I slowly started putting pressure on the wheel and it turned right but 2 lil ball bearings fell out of my steering column. The ignition and steering locks both still work so where did they come from? Also I noticed that when I turn right the car makes a very subtle click, just once and then when it turns back straight it does it again anyone know what that could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I do believe GM has a recall for that problem.Check out the recall list, its here on the forum somewhere.Good luck.
Check this link and then scroll to the forth item down--refers to the bearing tabs not being properly locked down and ball bearings may fall out.
From what I can see this applies to 1998 cars at the latest, but you obviously have the same symptoms.
It should be a free fix at the dealers
