i am trying to do my head gasket and am wondering if there is anything but the head bolts holding on the head thank you
what motor do you have, and what year car? i have a 90 cav with the 2.2 and i am doing my headgasket right now too

Naw, aside from the intake and exhaust manifolds, just the bolts. Gonna be a little 'stuck' together, though. Try whacking it with a hammer WITH a piece of pine (softish) wood in between the hammer and the head. Work your way around the head.
Have you tried gently inserting a wooden handle in one of the center-most ports and lifting with moderate effort to pry the head away,
in order to break whatever capilary action their may be between the head/gasket/block?
Go beyond the "bolt-on".
