I drive 220 miles away to work at a cancer center in New York City every week on Saturday mornings and return Sunday nights. It's about a 4.5 hour drive one way and I've been doing this for the past 7 years, but only 2 in the Sunfire. The car has never given me any problems until yesterday. I was on 322 West just a little over half an hour away from home around 1:00 AM and the car started stalling me. I pulled over to the side of the road and the motor stopped running. When I tried to start it again it would start and then just die again as if I was out of gas. The tank is 3/4's full and I checked the oil and it's full, too. The cluster light with the little fluid can was on. I haven't had a chance to check it since last night because I wound up needing towed for the rest of the drive and had it brought over to my friend's garage, but I'm going to check it later on today when he get's out of work. I'm wondering if it's the fuel pump that has kicked the bucket. Anybody else have any suggestions of what else could be the issue with it? And if it winds up being the fuel pump, anyone have any suggestions on what fuel pump I should get? If I'm going to replace it I might as well replace it with something better. Any tips would be greatly appreaciated. I depend on my car to get to work. It's not exactly a walkable distance, lol...

Im thinking oil pressure.
Turns out I'm throwing leans codes, and I checked my fuel pressure and there's no pressure at all. I'm going to order a new pump tommorrow and hope that fixes the problem. *crosses fingers*

i think the pump from certain year blazers fit our car and flow a lot more fuel. search around in the performance forum. I've had the same thing happen, except i had 9 heavy ppl in the car and was heavy on the throttle, she pooched on me. warranty covered it though
good luck
