just wondering if someone can tell me the approx weight of a bone stock 97 cavalier 4 door..looked it up on the net and it says like 3800 lbs...but that can't be right...i'm thinking thats vehicle weight plus how much it can hold...anyway someone let me kow if i akm right or can tell me how much thanks

That would be "Gross Weight."
Your weight approx is around 2690lbs.
3rd gen J-body's weight ranges from 2616lbs for a base model Cavalier coupe to 2890lbs for a Sunfire convertible.
And these weight #s comes from GM's specifications.

i had my car weighed last year on memorial day weekend. it was 2790. that was with a 1/4 tank of gas. spare tire and jack removed, and 15 drag radials on the front



Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

my 97z24 weighed in at 2800 with me in it. it has no options whatsoever and it didnt have the spare tire/jack and had a 1/4 tank of gas.

mind you im a big boy... i weighed like 275 then.

now, my 98z24 on the other hand... with me in it, and stereo etc...i'll betcha it weighs around 3000, it has every option-including the auto...so thats heavier than my 97 with the 5spd.

2845 with 3 gallons of gas and drag radials at the start of last year.
2775 with 3 gallons of gas and drag radials after the rebuild and stripping.
