Hello Everyone,
I have a 96 2.2 Sunfire and noticed it would have trouble starting after it rained. Now the car does not start at all, and yes it did rain a couple of days ago but the weather has cleared up since. The car is cranking over and the I hear the fuel pump activate.
I have replaced the battery and the car does have gas in it.
Anyone know what the problem maybe or what to check?
Thanks in advance.
You have fuel...
But do you have air, spark, & compression?
distributor cap? I know that was a tell tail sign with older vehicles maybe wires and plugs too sounds like the car isnt igniting the fuel, also your not goin crazy and flooding it are you? that may not help

His car does not have a distributor. Have you taken any plugs out and seen if you have any spark? Sounds like something was getting wet and finally gave out.

Looks like it was the battery after all.
Towed the car to the mechanic, and of course he starts it on his first try, looks like it was flooded after all the no starts with the bad battery.
Spark plugs and wires were replaced as they were due, I will see if the hard starting after it rains continues....good news is that it did rain and it started fine.
