How do i test to see if the sensor in the wheel hub is bad? i have a multimeter but dont know how to use it. What do i set the meter on and what should it read? if one of the sensors is bad would it cause the abs and brake light to come on? also what would cause the speedo not to work? it only works at certain speeds. i was told it could be the vss. but i already replaced that

thanks for the help,
nick

You test the sensor, by sticking the leads on to the leads in the harness, with it connected by the way, so backprobe the harness.

You need the meter on AC volts.

These sensors are magnetic relucant sensors, I believe. So as the magnet gets closer the voltage goes up, and it gets farther away goes down.

So the meter should go to 1volt, then down, than back up etc.
