My family has had this car for almost 6 years and it's probably ran for about 10% of the time...but, we love it and it got great mileage when it ran...

Here's what is happening: I've replaced the alternator, plugs, wires, had A/C upgraded to R-34, replaced Computer Module (in glove box), new tires, new brakes, oil changes, etc...

When we ran it last, the spark plug wires were getting fried (melting around the head of the plug); the turbo constantly reads in the negative numbers on the instrument panel gauge, I think I'm getting a Code 31 from the Control Module, and it sounds like it's running on about two cylinders...could be from plug wire problems...

Where do I start? Is it the turbo that's causing the heat problems around the engine? Could it be a vacuum leak to the waste gate?

I'm out of ideas and in need of someone to give me some help...Any East Tennessee connection willing to give me a line?

Thanks,

Jim T.

I've never actually looked at the turbo gauge in one of these.

If it's reading negative, then I assume it's a vac/boost gauge. If that's the case, then it should only go positive under somewhat heavy throttle.

If you put your foot down, does it then go into positive boost?
