service engine light has been coming on and off for the last week and a half. went and had it checked out today at advance and they said there was nothing wrong. they asked me if i have done any wiring lately and i told them i did about 2 weeks ago. the b&m shift plus. got home and checked the wiring and its all fine. the clip that holds the plug in the transmission was lose, thats about it. other than that, i have no clue why it could be coming on. any ideas??? thanks is advance.
no one knows, huh? the car isn't acting up or anything. the light is just on. i can kill the car and then crank it back up and the light is off for a little while. I'm just curious whats going on with it.
You dont need some moron from advance, who doesnt know what they are talking about. What you need is someone with a TECH II that can read that system.

I'm assuming the dealership would have one, right? if so, tomorrow i will take it in.
Must have some mud in a connection somewhere
yea drl's are disabled. i'll check ground when wife gets home tonight.
the only problem is , the service light has many purposes, it can be from a burnt out headlight to a faulty trunk release, plus it will come on when something else needs service

my service light just came on a few days ago. it isn't a drop everything and rush to the dealer type warning, is it? i guess i should check my lights.
no its not. i've ignored mine for awhile now. and just a week ago, the light went off and hasn't been back on. i have no idea why it was on. its fine now.
if there is a disaster waiting to happen (engine seize, axle, etc) there are other sensors, correct? are there even sensors for the axles?
thanks!
the service light if its not accompanied with another light, is very minor, DRL relay, Headlamp fuse/burnt. Trunk release broken, sometimes it can be the transmission (4T##)

oh yeah, the engine light has been on for about 1.5-2 yrs..it was on before that, i had a valve or sensor replaced, some environmental part. this light has been on, and i know a lot of cavs have a light sensor issue.
i should probably get it checked this week, eh?
thanks all.. it's my head lights. no daytime running lights, and only one with night nights.
