I have a little problem. My drivers side handle is busted, and has been for a long time. The inside handle on the door still works.
The only way to get in my car was from the passenger side door. BUT, now my passenger side door handle just broke on me. My rear seat doesn't fold down, it's fixed in place.......so I can't get in from the trunk either. I was gonna try and jimmy it, but as far as I know that only unlocks the door. My doors are already unlocked.
Any advice ?
It's actually a 93 Sunbird, doubt that matters though
kinda sounds funny. It almost sounds like your actual outside handles are broken. I noticed with my Sunbird one door handle the metal was bending but it never quite broke. My advice get the handles fixed (obviously) I believe replacement handles are dirt cheap on those cars.
As for gettin in maybe break a window?

Yeah, the drivers side handle snapped. And the passenger side handle is in one peice, but it let go inside.

see if you can find the rod where it connects to the handle, it should be close to the hole for the handle, once you find it stick a screw driver in the hole and push the rod down, otherwise break a window, hit up a junkyard and grab handles and a window, if your goin to the yard for handles a window will be cake to take out since your ripping the door open anyways
Ok, so I finally got into my car without breaking any windows or breaking down the back seat or jimmying the handle inside the door. Here's what I did, simply get a piece of string. Tie a knot at one end, pry open the door enough to drop the string down inside and fish for the handle on the door. Once you get it on over the handle pull the string back towards the rear of the car and open the door.
If I was any smarter I would be dangerous.
