Clutch Fluid Level??? HELP!!!

My clutch has no pressure in it. I dont know if its teh clutch itself of the fluid. The pedal feels like a brake pedal rigt after a brake job. You need to pump the clutch to get any pressure, but the pressure does not stay.
I am thinking (hoping) this is due to the fluid.

How much fluid should be in the little resovoir?

My guess would be you got a problem with youre slave cyl, Either its lower on clutch fluid or it worn out.

I agree with Rich. It sounds like you have low clutch fluid or a weak slave cylinder.

If he has no fluid though in the resivor, I would start with looking for a leak.

Had same prob, cluth reservoir leaked and had to fill every week. when i did my tranny swap, I was looking for clutch fluid leaking and sure enough, right at the slave cylinder there was sludge and crap. Replaced the slave and no problems anymore. It was easy with the tranny out. With it in, ouch.

as for the level, once the cap is on you should be around 2/3 full.

is it possible to change the slave cylinder without removing the tranny?

Most likely...no. It's an internal slave. Good luck trying to swap it with it still in the car.

slave cylinder it is. had the same problem also right before i got rid of my cav. i had to put fluid in like every other day and it got to the point where the pedal kept getting soft and had a hell of a time shifting. put fluid in and pumped the pedal and it was good for a day or so.
