I have a 97 Pontiac sunfire 2.2l. It has a header, high flow cat, and exhaust. After having the Exhaust on for about a year it started throwing the second 02 sensor. I replaced the sensor and didn't work. I thought about doing the Mechanical 02 sim and after buying everything and drilling it out, the tip of the sensor can't fit inside of the sparkplug nonfouler. The tip of the sensor is is just a little smaller than the opening its self. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and also if there is a way to get around it?
I dunno might have even just been the non foulers I had? i just have to make it stop throwing codes.
oo yea, i also tried one of those real 02 sims, and it threw the code for the first sensor. don't know if this will help any.
yea i tried this... I couldnt get the opening large enough to fit the sensor tip even after drilling. If i went any bigger it would take away from the walls where it goes in.. I didn't want to weaken it. Or do you say just drill it untill it fits....
you're just drilling the antifouler. it's not like its an integral piece that really has a purpose other than to be a spacer. drill th hole untill the sensor fits in it. all its supposed to do is pull te sensor out of the exhaust stream a little bit.
