theres a 1990 cavalier for only 350 but needs a new head gasket does any one kno how hard and expencive it is body is nice and every thing but i just dont wamt to get in to more problems with it

If you have any mechanical experience you will be fine. Get a repair manual and a buddy if you can to make things easier.

It isnt to bad at all on four cylinder engines.

You do however normally need more than just a basic set of hand tools.

careful....

I just bought a 96 cavi not too long ago. got it for $500, with a "blown headgasket". turns out, the head was cracked in 4 spots, and the gasket was rocked. oh, and the brakes were shot, and the struts in the back were damn near falling off, and the alternator, and so on and on....

long story short, take a VERY VERY Good look at this car before you buy it.

blown headgaskets are secondary problems to a much bigger one like over heating.
