So I was driving to work today, and one of the dash lights came on. It looked like a reservoir which was low in fluid. I think this is the coolant light, correct me if i'm wrong. Everything was operating fine, and the heat gauge seemed in the normal range, so I kept going. When I parked i popped the hood just to do a quick check, and there was some kind of fluid spotted around the engine bay, along with a little bit of smoke. It didn't look like coolant (it was dark brown in color). I only got a quick look, so I haven't been able to look extensively at where it's coming from yet. Any ideas of where to start looking?

maybe the oil cap/dipstick came loose, and abit of oil sprayed around in the engine bay
