Well my car seems to be perfectly fine till i get to 1/4 tank of gas. when i get underneath that by a little, if i get to a certain speed and rpm, the car acts like it cant give out anymore fuel. i mean, it will but it goes up and down like vroom vroom vroom vrooom and its irritating. is that something that has to do with the fuel pump or injectors? i got the injectors all changed all changed in 05... since then i normally used fuel injector cleaner like once a month. so wut do u guys think.?
How old is youre fuel filter?. I would also look at getting a pressure test done.
Good Luck.
Before replacing a part hoping it is bad, test it.
Hook up a pressure gauge, I dont know specificaly Cavaliers specs, but most vehicles are about 45psi, at idle, and should go slighty with load applied.
If you replace it, make sure to replace the filter to. A plugged filter, can cause a dead pump, because the pump is trying to force fuel past the plug but cant. It overheats and is dead.
Also that gas cleaner you toss in there. Pure alchol, that stuff destroy the seals on the pump.
