Ok well got my self a 97 z24 2.4 ladies said the timig chain sliped or snaped took the cover off today and its loose but didnt breack my question is how to i find proper timin now..like all my pins and points line up but it still must be out still..how do i get it back tpo normal
take it to a shop unless you hace the stuff to do it on your own.. (im assuming not because you're asking)
Go to the parts store and get a hanyes manual. It will tell you how to set the timing. If the chain is loose then the tensioner must have crapped out. I would replace it. Was the aligment spots out of aligment when you first opened it up? If so it could have bent some valves.

I'd first pull that head and see if you have any bent valves or piston damage.

Check the timming first by yourself. No need to pull the head yet. Pulling the head without knowing is wasting money and time.
There's a dot over the crank and one on the crank that need to be align. Then the 2 holes in the cam gears should be align at 6o'clock (they should be align with the holes behind the gear).
If everything is right, do a compression test.
