will the check oil light come on if there is too much oil?
what would cause the oil pressure to drop?
It's those rearmost main bearings that are used to signal "low oil pressure"...
That's because the oil flow enters the crankshaft at the front, then travels
toward the rear lubricating rods and mains as it goes along..
And, by the time it gets toward the rear, if there are loose fitting rod or main
bearings that have leaked a lot of oil, thse rear crankshaft bearings will
start saying "Ouch ! " ...
so it makes sence that my motor is shot lol.. the oil light coming on is just a reminder to me then i guess, reguardless ima drive it for another week i hope before i drop the new engine in...
Cavy, if that engine hasn't yet started knocking, you've maybe several hundred miles
before you'll have to park the car....
Drive carefully, carry a cell phone, and get that new engine installed !...

On my 96 Z24 when I first start it up the CHECK OIL light is on. It stays on till I shut it off. If I start it up shortly after it goes off. If the car sits a long time it comes back on. It started this the other night when it got below 0 degrees outside. I just changed the oil Thursday night and put a new filter on it so I know it's full. Still doing this. I think the sensor is going bad. Where can you get an oil level sensor? Or if I disconnect it will the light not come on. It bugs me. I can start it let it run for 5 minutes, turn it off, then start it right up again and it's off.
It's not the oil pressure light, just the Check Oil orange light.

I have the same problem. Go to a autozone or Pep Boys or any major auto parts retailer and ask for an oil level sensor. It cost around $40. You can change it yourself, you just have to drain the oil before you do it or wait to your next oil change and ask the ppl who change the oil to do it.
when it comes to boobs i need a girl with bad grades cause im tired of all the ones walking around with straight a's
Found one at Advance for $33.95. Auto Zone didn't carry it for my car.
