OK its been super cold here and my car(01 Z24) was doing just fine then on sunday I was driving and my check engine light came on and my car was real doggy and sputtering kind of, it seems to idle half ass but you can really here the miss or whatever in the exhaus. My MPG has cut in half and my power is just not there when trying to accelerate. does this sound like a O2 sensor? or what could it be

Have you check your plugs and wires?

no, but just put in new plugs (no wires just coil pack) but didnt change coil packs. I havent been able to check anything because its been way too cold for me to mess around with it even with the garage heater on. Does anyone know if autozone or anyplace like that reads codes for you for free, I thought one or more of the auto parts places can run a scan...but maybe I am just thinking testing starters, alts and stuff like that

And the code is....?

That's the first clue, the car is trying to tell you whats wrong, you need to go to Autozone and have them plug in the scanner and look up the code. Could be a hundred different things, but if you have a code, it'll narrow it down fast.
