Well when i drive going like 70.. let up on the gas for a quick second the gauge will bounce from like 55 back to 70 etc.. its MOSTLY when i let up on the gas. And mostly at higher speeds. I just replaced the VSS sensor yesterday thought for sure thats wut it was.. but it still does it. My old vss had NO metal shavings on it.
Is there some kind of ground that is lose or something? I obviously canmt use cruise control because it tries to compensate for it and just makes the pedal as erratic as the gauge. Also when i stop it seems like it takes the gauge justtt a half second longer to drop to 0
It sounds to me like your speedometer cable is on the way out.

show me a cable driven cavy speedo, and i'll show you the meaning of life (or my penis)
You'll never touch God's hand
You'll never taste God's breath
Because you'll never see the second coming
Life's too short to be focused on insanity
I've seen the ways of God
I'll take the devil any day

1. Try replacing the cluster.
2. Maybe a short in the wires?

yeah man, just swap out the speedo with a new or used one.
this is common for 2000+ right? its a 2001 if its a common problem i mite chnage it.. it doesnt bother me except for the cruise control being all out of whack! is there any specific ground? its only above 70mph tho so it probably is the damn cluster
